Palia Gets Major Update for October 2025

Singularity 6 has released a Halloween-spirited update for Palia, patch 0.196, to kick off the holiday season for players with some engaging new content. The free-to-play fantasy life sim launched in open beta in late 2023 on PC and Nintendo Switch, with current-gen consoles getting a release in May 2025. Palia receives regular updates, sometimes including major content additions to keep players engaged.

In the game, players are building a life in Kilima Village on the world of Majiri. The gameplay loop has been compared to that of Stardew Valley, with the new inhabitant passing the time foraging, hunting, mining, catching insects, cooking, gardening, and making furniture. In September, Palia introduced animal husbandry as well, giving players the opportunity to raise and care for bees, boars, chickens, and cow-like creatures. Additionally, there are quests that will lead players to uncover the mystery of the Ancient Humans, while also getting to know the various villagers.

Palia Releases Spiritfest Spectacle for October 2025

The latest content update, released on October 7, is Patch 0.196 and adds the Spiritfest Spectacle to Palia just in time for the spooky season. The update brings the Spiritfest Bundle and special quests to the Bulletin Board, as well as the Spooky Moon Store with a variety of trinkets and decorative items like floating candles, cobwebs, and pumpkins. The Jack O’Lantern Lure has been added as well, and this special seasonal lure will let players summon Pumpkin Rockhoppers to hang out at their base for a while. In keeping with the theme, players will find several additions to the Premium Store, including the Split Soul Angelic Demonic outfit, Spooky Beats emote, Ghostly Glider, Spooky Smoke tool skins, and the Spooky Set of Spiritfest-themed makeup looks.

Patch 0.196 is more than just cosmetics, though, adding a number of fun elements for players to enjoy. This includes Goobi, a new slime-based ranch pet available in Palia‘s Premium Store that produces foraged flowers.

The Palia update also introduces changes to ranching, including the ability for players to invite friends to their ranch, where they can feed, pet, and collect items from the animals. The new pen organization feature in Palia lets ranchers prioritize which pen animals are sent to, and this includes letting babies stay with their parents rather than in the nursery. A couple of quality-of-life adjustments reduces the happiness decay rate while increasing animals’ production limits. And, of course, Patch 0.196 brings a number of bug fixes to the game as well.
